Prairie View, Tx.- Delta Devils lose a tough one as they fall to the Panthers of Prairie View A&M by a score of 102-83 in a Southwestern Athletic Conference matchup on Monday night.
Before the game both teams paid tribute to basketball great Kobe Bryant, in recognition of the tragedy that took place on Sunday morning outside of Southern California.
Once the game tipped off both teams proved to be battle tested and determined to put on a show for the crowd in attendance.
Caleb Hunter lead the way for Mississippi Valley with 21 points and two steals. Senior Michael Green added 19 points and four rebounds to go along with Torico Simmons 18 points and six assists.
Despite those numbers for the Delta Devils, it wasn't enough to match the 30 points and six rebounds for Antione Lister and the 19 points and ten assists for Devonte Patterson of the Panthers.
The Delta Devils are back at home this weekend for a match up against conference foe, Jackson State. The game will be this coming Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
