Itta Bena, Miss.- The Mississippi Valley State University women basketball team opens its season with a home contest against Austin Peay State University on December 2nd, inside the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex. Due to the concern of health, wellness and safety of the players and staff in our efforts to begin non-conference play for the 2020-21 season, spectators will be limited to a total of 60 guest of the players and coaching staff from both teams.  All invited guest must adhere to the Covid-19 protocols established by the Southwestern Athletic Conference and Mississippi Valley State University.

Entrances to the R. W. Harrison HPER Complex
  • All spectators and media must enter through the main doors in front of the building and utilize the front steps when entering the arena. All patrons must remain six feet apart (social distance), masked up.
  • At no time will anyone be allowed entry to the playing floor without the appropriate credential. All media and fans must stay in designated areas at all times. The backdoor entrance is for teams, officials and game workers only.

Mask-Mandatory
  • Mississippi Valley State University is a mask-mandatory campus. In order to enter the R. W. Harrison HPER Complex and remain in the arena, a mask must be worn at all times and social distancing will be enforced.

Seating / Distance and Family
  • All seats will be socially distanced in the arena. A family will be allowed to sit together in groups of four only. We ask that you please refrain from moving around the arena after you have selected your seat(s).
  • There will be no court side seating during the 2020-21 season.

Clear Bag Policy
  • The clear bag policy will be in place at the R. W. Harrison HPER Complex at all times.

Backdoor / Parking
  • The backdoor will be for teams, working staff and officials only this season; no spectators will be allowed entry into the backdoor or the parking lot. All team members, officials and workers will have their temperature checked and scanned before entry will be given into the arena.

Visiting Team
  • Upon entry into the arena, the visiting team entourage will have their temperatures taken, and scanned via the screening device. Once inside the arena, teams will go directly to their locker room. Once their respective game is over that team will remain in the locker room until it is time to load the bus.

Arena Floor
  • The arena floor is limited to credential administrative staff, players, coaching and support staff and game workers for the contest. Only those who have been tested within 72 hours or been through a team testing protocol will be allowed to enter the playing floor. Masks must be worn at all times.

Media / Media Entrance
  • All media, with the exception of the visiting team SID and radio (only two persons). No credentials will be mailed out, as each media member will have their temperature checked before receiving a credential at the entrance to the arena.
  • All media must enter through the main doors of the R. W. Harrison HPER complex.
