Lake Charles, La.- Mississippi Valley State University Baseball opened the season in Lake Charles, La. with a four game series against the Cowboys of McNeese State. 

Game 1
L 0-9

The Delta Devils were only able to come up with two hits on 29 plate appearances as a team.
Eric Johnson II went to the plate on four different occasions with his only hit coming in the 7th with a single up the middle. 
Angel Maldonado entered the game to pinch hit for Joshua Wilson in the 8th inning and singled to right center. 
Pre-Season All SWAC Pitcher, Aaron Barkley received his first loss of the season after giving up four hits and seven runs with six eras. 
Freshman Kyndell Dolphin entered the game from the bullpen and gave up four hits and three runs with only two eras. 

Game 2
L 0-12

As a team the Mississippi Valley Delta Devils ended the game with one hit on 28 plate appearances. 
C. Colding reached 2nd base with a double down the left field line but was left on base to end the top of 2nd. 
Nicholas Johnson received his first loss of the season with giving up ten runs on ten eras and four hits. 
Brandon Hawkins came in for relief and gave up two runs on five hits and two eras. 

Game 3
L 2-21

Angel Maldonado and Antonio Walker score the first two runs of the season during the top of the 3rd inning after a couple of base on balls, a SAC bunt by Willie Johnson and a single to center field by Aaron Brazelton. 
Those were the sole hits and runs for the Delta Devils after having 26 plate appearances. 
Senior Jeremiah Barr received his first loss of the season giving up seven hits and six runs on 4 eras. 

Game 4
L 1-16

Chase Colding scored the only run of the game for the Delta Devils in a loss to the Cowboys of McNeese State to end the four game series. 
Freshman Hunter Stallings receives the loss after giving up ten hits and 11 runs, with 11 eras.
