Itta Bena, Ms.- Mississippi Valley lost a tough one as they fall to the Tigers of Grambling State by a score of 90-65 in a Southwestern Athletic Conference matchup on Monday night.
From the opening tip Grambling proved to have the Delta Devils number by opening up the game on a 16-0 run. From that point they never relinquished the lead and Mississippi Valley had to battle the entire game.
Michael Green lead the way for Mississippi Valley with 21 points and five rebounds. Freshman Richard Rivers came off the bench and added 13 points and four rebounds to go along with Ahmadu Sarnor 10 points and four assists.
Despite those numbers for the Delta Devils, it wasn't enough to match the 23 points and 11 rebounds for Travon Bunch and the 19 points and ten rebounds for Ivy Smith Jr. of the Tigers.
The Delta Devils are back at home this weekend for a match up against conference foe, Alabama State. The game will be this coming Saturday at 4:00p.m.
