Caleb Hunter Named SWAC Freshman of the Year

Itta Bena, Ms.-The 2019-20 Southwestern Athletic Conference All-Conference Basketball Honors have been released and Caleb Hunter has been named Freshman Player of the Year.

"It's an honor to receive this award, and I want to thank all of the Coaches and Sports Information Directors that voted for me," said Hunter.

Head Coach Lindsey Hunter who is also the Father of Caleb Hunter stated,

"I'm as proud as can be of the young man he is becoming. I'm really proud of the growth and maturity he has shown in such a short time. His future is bright and I'm just blessed to be a part of it... OWE- Out Work Everyone!"

Hunter ranked fourth in the league averaging 15.7 points per game and ranked second in three point field goal percentage (.278).

Coach Hunter who also played in SWAC as a student athlete was named Freshman of the Year during the 1988-89 season.
