Itta Bena, Miss.- The Mississippi Valley State men's basketball team come up to short with a 64-51 loss to the Hornets of Alabama State on Tuesday evening inside the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex.

How It Happened

• Caleb Hunter scored a season high for the Delta Devils with 22 points and seven rebounds.
• Freshman Treylan Smith completed the game with 8 points, six rebounds, four assists, one block and a steal.
• Terry Collins finished the game with 12 points and two rebounds, two steals to go along with two blocks.
• MVSU shot 33.3 percent (18-54) from the field, 28.6 percent (8-28) from the three-point line, and 70 percent (7-10) at the charity stripe.
