OXFORD, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State University men's basketball program stunned the hometown crowd by taking a five-point lead (38-33) into intermission, but a 15-2 Rebels run to open the second half sunk the Delta Devils despite a monster performance from Robert Carpenter.

Mississippi Valley State Top Performers
- Robert Carpenter fronted the Devils for the second time in as many games, going supernova on the SEC foe with a game-best 27 points courtesy of five threes while corralling seven boards and two blocks while connecting on 10-of-19 (53%).
- Caleb Hunter put up 14 points to match her season average with a season-high six boards plus three assists to boot.
- Devin Gordon was the final visitor in black jerseys to go for double-figures, producing ten points, three assists and three boards.
- Despite neither player making a dent in the scoring column, John Aguer led the club with nine rebounds while Elijah Davis topped the squad with six assists (all in the first half).
Notes
- The men from the Delta rode hot three-point shooting to its first half advantage, making seven of its nine triples before the break. Overall, they out-shot the Rebels by 13% from downtown (43-30).
- The Delta Devils were also more generous and in a giving mood following the Thanksgiving holiday, recording 15 assists to U of M's 11.
The Green and White continue its SEC road swing on Monday in the Music City when it faces Vanderbilt at 7 p.m. inside historic Memorial Gymnasium.
