ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State University women's basketball program will be the opening act of the season's first of many doubleheaders with the men as the Northwestern State Lady Demons come to The Delta at 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

Scouting The Opponent: Northwestern State Lady Demons

NW State was pegged to finish last in the Southland after a dreadful one-win season in 2020-21 but have quadrupled their win total already over the first seven games with victories over Centenary (La.), Texas A&M-Texarkana, Louisiana Christian, and MVSU's next opponent; Arkansas State.
The Lady Demons have rode rebounding, free throws, and turnovers to its 4-3 start, garnering 43 boards per game, a SLC leading 75.8% free-throw percentage, and a huge turnover margin of 5.57.
Jordan Todd has been the catalyst for the Purple, White, and Orange, accumulating four double-doubles and 4.1 offensive boards per game to rank top-25 in the NCAA to go along with a conference-best 1.43 blocks a night.
Monette Bolden is the Lady Demons' top scorer and stealer, averaging 12.3 points and 2.00 steals per ballgame, respectively.
Candice Parramore has been one of the best free throw shooters in the nation so far, cashing in on 92.3% of her attempts (24-of-26) to place 15th in the country while averaging double-figures in scoring (10.9).
