DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Former Delta Devil defensive lineman Jeremiah Caine boosted his NFL Draft stock last weekend, showing out at the FCS National Bowl en route to earning Defensive MVP honors inside Municipal Stadium.

A Tennessee State transfer, the 6-foot-3 290-pounder from Columbus, Mississippi logged seven tackles, two quarterback hurries and a sack as he constantly lived in the opposing backfield while harassing ballcarriers and signal-callers alike.

Caine became the fifth Delta Devil in program history to win a Collegiate All-Star Game MVP, joining an illustrious club that includes NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Rice (1984 Blue-Gray Classic), former Kansas City Chiefs / Houston Oilers defender Theodore Washington (1971 Black College All-Star Game), former Seattle Seahawks quarterback Melvin Williams (1980 Black College All-Star Game), and former Denver Broncos wide receiver Joe Thomas (1985 Freedom Bowl).

Keonte' Daniels, a defensive back from Noxapater, Mississippi, also had an impactful evening on the Florida coast with three tackles, two pass breakups plus a momentum-swinging interception.

Finally, offensive lineman and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native Joshua Taylor made the trip as well, competing in the prospect showcase and putting another quality showing on film.
