Mississippi Valley State Top Performers

  • McCoy was impressive in all facets of his game, putting up season-bests of nine rebounds (team-high), five assists (game-high), and four free throws made over a season-most 37 minutes. The Meridian, Mississippi native also tallied a game-high three steals and his third double-figure scoring outing of the year at 10 points.

  • Robert Carpenter has led the Devils in scoring during each of his nine games active, doing so again with a game-best 14 points which also continues his string of double-digit scoring contests over that same span.

  • Caleb Hunter has had similar success in the shooting department in the non-conference portion of the slate, registering 12 points for his fourth consecutive game with ten-plus and eighth overall in ten tries.

  • Two first-year Delta Devils got their career firsts against UAB as Jonothon Barnes connected on a three-pointer to give him his first points of his career while Kadar Waller can now add a block to his stat line.

Notes

  • The home squad in Green and Gold became the first club in just over a calendar year to shoot 60% from downtown against MVSU, hitting that percentage on 12-of-20 three-point attempts.

The men from Itta Bena have the next week off to enjoy the holidays before ending non-conference play with a trip to Tampa against South Florida on December 29 at 6 p.m. central time.
