ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State University men's basketball program will take the floor for the first time in 12 days and make its 2022 debut when it welcomes the Hornets of ASU at 4 p.m. inside the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex.

Scouting The Opponent: Alabama State Hornets
ASU has only tasted victory once so far this campaign, defeating fellow HBCU North Carolina Central by a count of 80-74 on November 20.
The Hornets come into the SWAC debut as the top rebounding and blocking squad in the league, totaling 452 and 54, respectively.
The men from Montgomery brought back Preseason All-SWAC Second Teamer Kenny Strawbridge, who has started all 12 games, making 40.6% of his shots for an average of eight points and 4.6 boards a night including a team-high 21 assists as well.
Gerald Liddell is the most consistent scoring threat for the Black and Gold, producing 11.7 points over the squad's 12 contests while tying for the assist lead with Strawbridge and rejecting the second-highest blocks on the club (13).
