Scouting The Opponent: Alabama A&M Bulldogs
Alabama A&M is coming off its best performance of the year, dispatching UAPB by 20 points (70-50) to halt a nine-game losing skid since opening the season with a victory over Tennessee State (82-73).
The Maroon and White have surrendered the second-lowest field goal percentage in the conference at 42.8% and has done well in rebounding (34.40), limiting turnovers (13.5), and forcing steals (8.2) as Coach Howard's men are third in the league for those categories.
AAMU was one of just two teams to have multiple preseason all-conference performers and was the only club to land two on the first team in Garrett Hicks and Jalen Johnson.
Hicks ranks just outside the top-25 nationally in terms of steals per contest with 2.20, is fifth in the SWAC in points a game (13.8) and has converted on 35.2% of his field goal tries.
Johnson produced a double-double in the win over TSU on opening night, has the third-best field-goal percentage in the league (43.5%), is the team's top rebounder (6.2), and is trailing Hicks for the team's scoring lead by one percentage point (13.7).
