TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Mississippi Valley State University football program connected on an 83-yard go route down the FAMU sideline at the end of the first quarter to tie the game, but Florida A&M scored the final 27 points of the night in a 34-7 loss.

Mississippi Valley State Top Performers
 
	- Fredrick McGee had the game of his life, nearly doubling his previous career-high (7) with a game-best 13 tackles including 12 by himself.
 
	- Cobie Bates went off as well, putting together a career/team-best 105 yards, three receptions and a career-long 83 yard catch which resulted in his first career touchdown. Bates, the Devils' first 100-yard wideout this season, averaged a preposterous 35.0 yards per grab.
 
	- Orlando Fernandez made his lone PAT try, launched a 52-yard punt, and dropped a season-high three kicks inside the Rattlers red zone.
 
	- Ronnie Thomas has now extended his sack streak to six consecutive games with at least a half-sack, bringing down the quarterback once, logged two tackles for loss and three takedowns total.
 
	- Jalen Bell provided the defense's other sack on the evening as part of his five solo tackles.
 
	- Jamari Jones had a QBR of just under 142, completing 63.2% of his passes (12-of-19) and his first quarter score to Bates.
 
	- Caleb Johnson led the ground game, rumbling for 54 yards (5.4 per carry) while Ryan Whitaker had a season-best 28 yards for a notable 9.3 yards a tote.
 
	- Romallis Carey tallied his first multi-tackle contest of 2022, both coming behind the line of scrimmage and Deione Reed also collected a TFL as well.
 
	- Season-bests were set across the receiving corps as Myles Hopson (three catches), Gregory Jean caught a career-high four balls and Jared Wilson notched his first reception in the Green and White.
 
	- Two defenders recorded new season-highs for tackles; Jayren Fox had eight and Abdural Lee was right behind at seven.
 
Notes
 
	- Florida A&M remains the lone SWAC school that Mississippi Valley has not defeated on the gridiron.
 
MVSU will face its third and final Mississippi school on Saturday inside Rice-Totten Stadium when the Alcorn Braves come to town at 6 p.m. and the theme will be "Young Alumni Reunion" and a "Green Out".
