ITTA BENA, Miss . - The Mississippi Valley State University athletics department has added a new member to its administrative and compliance staff as
Jarrad Ratliff comes onboard as the newe Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance at MVSU.
Ratliff comes to The Valley via Grambling State University, where he was the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance as well. Among Ratliff's responsibilities were the development, implementation, and monitoring of all Tigers athletics teams, including all recruiting activities, and the coordination of rules education seminars with staff and student-athletes. He will retain a similar role in Itta Bena.

He began his career nine years ago at Savannah State University in Georgia working as a compliance coordinator, advising, and monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes in accordance with NCAA, MEAC and SSU policies while providing rules education, to coaches, student- athletes, parents, and boosters.Â
Mr. Ratliff has the HBCU blood and culture coursing through his veins as both schools he graduated from are Historically Black while each of his six destinations, SSU, MVSU, GSU, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Bethune-Cookman, and Jackson State are cut from the same cloth.
He is a solution-driven administrator, budget-conscious staffer, diversity and inclusion champion, proficient communicator, problem solver, critical thinker, strong analytical evaluator, and efficient multi-tasker that will help EleVate V-State.
The Greenwood native and Valley State grad returns home to his roots where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Health Physical Education and Recreation in 2009 in the Mississippi Delta before claiming a Master of Science in Sports Administration from Grambling State University in 2010. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He and his wife Farren are the proud parents of one son, Lennox Ahmaud.Â
