ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State University athletic department has made its first foray into the Name, Image, and Likeness game, partnering with NOCAP Sports for MVSU student-athletes to further expand their personal brand as well as career opportunities.
 
"Very excited to announce that MVSU will be partnering with NOCAP Sports. I am very impressed with their high-level technology made accessible to every student-athlete regardless of gender, choice of sport, or background," Senior Associate Athletic Director For Compliance Jarrad Ratliff said. "NOCAP will give our student-athletes the opportunity to ELEVATE by branding themselves, building relationships with different corporations and preparing them for the future both on and off the playing field. Most importantly, finding new ways to empower our female athletes."
 
According to the company's website, "NOCAP's mission is to give every athlete regardless of school, sport, level or background, equal access to the best technology and resources to maximize their name, image and likeness."
 
Among the features that Valley State student-athletes will have access to as a part of this deal includes:
 

• Ability to engage with fans and brands to monetize a diverse set of NIL opportunities.

 

• Automate NCAA and university compliance rules to proactively protect every student-athletes' eligibility.

 

• Access to NOCAP's all-inclusive education portal for NIL success.

 
"One of our biggest goals as a university and athletic department is to ELEVATE and prepare our student-athletes for life after leaving The Valley and giving them the best chances to be successful in this newly formed NIL landscape," said Hakim McClellan, Director of Athletics. "We are proud to have NOCAP as our partner and we look forward to being trendsetters in not only HBCU sports, but the NCAA as a whole."
 
This groundbreaking partnership is effective immediately, just in time for the beginning of the fall 2022 academic semester, which began on Monday, August 22.
