The Godfather vs. the Gunslinger
 

ITTA BENA, Miss. - As a part of Black History Month, the National Football Leauge (NFL) has featured the 1984 matchup between Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils and Alcorn State Braves, with MVSU legends such as Archie Cooley to provide their point-of-view of The Battle between The Godfather, Alcorn's Marino Casem, and the Gunslinger, Cooley. 

The Delta Devils and the Braves matched up at the Veterans Memorial Stadium in Jackson, Miss., on Sunday, November 4. Relive the epic matchup of two HBCU Hall of Fame players, MVSU's Jerry Rice and Alcorn's Issiac Holt, through storytelling by clicking here. 

"The Godfather versus the Gunslinger," paused Rice. "What a battle. You look for those types of battles, because it'll bring out the best of the best in you." 

The Braves claimed victory over the Delta Devils, 42-28.
