ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State Diamond Devils prepare to host a doubleheader against the Bulldogs of Tougaloo on Saturday afternoon, March 4.
The first pitch is set for noon. The second game is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
The Diamond Devils are currently ranked first in the SWAC in stolen bases, with 46 total stolen bases. Davon Mims (1st) and Narvin Booker (2nd) are currently ranked nationally and in the conference in stolen bases. Fellow teammates Maury Weaver (4th) and Christopher King (5th) are also currently ranked in the conference in stolen bases.Â
Sophomore outfielder Booker is currently ranked fifth in the conference in runs, with 11 total runs.Â
Junior left-handed pitcher Hunter Stallings was tabbed MVSU Athlete of the Week with two wins against UAPB. Stallings is currently ranked first in the league in victories and is currently ranked sixth nationally. Fellow pitcher Calvin McClendon is currently ranked fourth in the league in victories, with one.Â
