ITTA BENA, Miss.-Â The Mississippi Valley State men's basketball team prepares for its last home game of the season, matched up against Jackson State Tigers on Saturday, March 4, inside the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.

Mississippi Valley State (5-26,4-13 SWAC)Â matches up with the Tigers after coming up short to Alcorn Braves on Thursday evening, 70-60.Â
Terry Collins was the leading scorer for MVSU, with 16 points. Tyronn Mosely contributed 15 points to the board, and Danny Washington added ten points. Collins and Mosley each collected four rebounds to give the Delta Devils a second chance at scoring against Alcorn.Â
Alvin Stredic and Ernest Minton each recorded eight points against the Braves. Minton managed to grab eight rebounds for MVSU.Â
Collins currently leads the conference in the three-point category. To add, he is ranked 58th nationally in three-pointers made, with a value of 79. Collins is also ranked in the conference in points (2nd), with a total of 471 points, averaging 15.2 points per game. He is also currently ranked in the conference in steals (3rd), with 39 registered to his game.Â
In the last matchup between the Delta Devils and JSU, MVSU pulled away in the second half to claim victory, 82-78.Â
Jackson State (12-18, 11-6 SWAC)Â collected two conference wins this week against Praire View A&M (61-57), and Arkansas-Pine Bluff (67-63).Â
JSU's Coltie Young is also ranked in the n the three-point category (2nd) of the conference. Young has made 76 total three-pointers for the Tigers.Â
Defending the basket for the Tigers are Romelle Mansel and Zeke Cook. Mansel is currently ranked ninth in blocks, with 24 total blocks. Cook is currently ranked eighth in offensive rebounds, giving the Tigers a second chance at scoring. Â
