MVSU Shows Heart in Competitive Battle Against Southern University

ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State University Delta Devils displayed determination and teamwork in their matchup against Southern University at the Harrison HPER Complex. Despite a 63-42 loss, MVSU's effort and energy on both ends of the court stood out as they fought hard for every possession in front of an enthusiastic home crowd of 2,248 fans.

The Delta Devils excelled in key areas, including a strong performance in the paint, where they scored 22 points. The bench also contributed significantly, adding 14 points to the team's total and showcasing the depth and promise of the roster.

Senior guard Arthur Tate led the charge offensively, scoring 7 points and showing leadership throughout the game. Freshman forward Raeshun McGregory was another standout performer, recording 5 points and 6 rebounds, giving fans a glimpse of his potential as a key player in the program's future. Defensively, Daniel Umoh and Antonio Sisk anchored the paint with hustle plays and timely blocks, helping the team hold Southern to tough shots in critical moments.

MVSU's defensive effort was a highlight of the game, with the team recording 7 steals and 4 blocks. The Delta Devils forced 14 turnovers from Southern University, which fueled several fast breaks and scoring opportunities.
