Men’s Basketball Set To Travel Over 10,000 Miles During 2025-26 Schedule

2025-26 MBB Schedule

Men's Basketball | 10/1/2025 11:00:00 AM

ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State University men's basketball program is ready to cash in on their frequent flyer miles as the Delta Devils are set to embark on a journey from Morgantown, West Virginia to Honolulu, Hawaii that will encompass just over 8,800 miles during non-conference play alone, which does not account for the annual road trips to SWAC destinations.

The guys from Itta Bena open the show on the road where the journey begins with SWAC Media Day next week, in Birmingham, Alabama, opposite the UAB Blazers on Monday, November 3.

One of the team's two non-conference home games is next on the docket as Coach Ivory's crew hosts MUW on November 5 at 6 p.m. when the Owls make the short trip from Columbus.

Two days following the home opener, MVSU will visit their old Kentucky home, facing off against Ja Morant's alma mater on the seventh at seven.

The must-anticipated return to the tropical paradise of the Hawaiian islands is in store from November 13-15 with the Green and White taking on the host UH Warriors, Utah Tech, and Manhattan over the three-day Rainbow Classic.

Staying out on the west coast remain Valley State when they return to the continental 48, looking to be the Wile E. Coyote to the Bakersfield Roadrunners on November 22.

Somewhat closer to the Magnolia State go the Devils as the Texas A&M's Sixth Man welcomes the squad on November 25.

The least amount of miles traveled during the non-conference  schedule comes in the nearly annual clash versus the ULM Warhawks takes place on December 3.

The final daunting stretch of the non-SWAC gauntlet of the year will see Head Coach George Ivory's club play four power conference opponents in five games to wrap up the new year as Kansas State (December 8), Florida State (December 19), West Virginia (December 22), and Oklahoma embrace The Valley while Tarleton gets sandwiched in between the quartet of big-names as they invade the Mississippi Delta on December 16.

New Year and a new chance at life is on task to ring in 2026 against the Alabama schools from ASU (January 3) and AAMU (January 5).

The Texas Two-Step is the road opening weekend in the SWAC for Mississippi Valley, traveling to east Texas to face Prairie View (January 10) as well as Texas Southern (January 12).

The 2025-26 version of the schedule pits Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M for just one pair of battles against the Sunshine Staters as MVSU hosts them on January 17 and January 19, respectively.

Immediately after that, the Delta Devils will see Grambling State (January 24) and Southern (January 26) for the one time in 2025-26, both being in The Boot.

A season-long homestand awaits after that as the Green and White host a trio of local rivals inside the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex including UAPB (January 31), Jackson State (February 7), and Alcorn (February 9).

Eastward bound goes Valley for the double date opposite the ASU Hornets and AAMU Bulldogs on February 14 and February 16.

The Seniors will play the Prairie View Panthers (February 19) and Texas Southern (February 21) in the final weekend of basketball for selected players, who will be recognized prior to the TSU contest.

A perfect way to end the campaign begins during the February finale opposite Arkansas-Pine Bluff on the 28th whereas the unofficial crown for best basketball program in the Magnolia State puts a bow on the regular season at Alcorn (March 3) and the last game of the year will be against the school from the state capital, Jackson State, two days later.

The SWAC Tournament drought will hopefully be a distant memory come March 9-14 in Atlanta as MVSU looks to get an invite to the dance for the first time since the 2020-21 campaign and start making a run.
