MURRAY, Ky. – The Mississippi Valley State University men's basketball program saw their leading scorer neutralized a bit at Murray State, but it paved the way for a different set of student-athletes to shine brightly despite the final score of 108-60, in favor of the Racers.

Delta Devils' Top Performers: 
 
  • Daniel Mayfield took on the role of leading top point-getter for Head Coach George Ivory, fronting the Green and White with 17 points plus a pair of blocks, going 5-for-5 from the line on top of seven boards.
 
  • Samuel Murray did a lot of post work in a short timeframe, topping all players at ten rebounds in just under 20 minutes while being one of three Devils with a multi-assist (2) evening and a half-dozen points as well.
 
  • Mussa Mzein was the lone visitor with more than one steal (2) whereas Michael James still managed to put up a solid 14 points, six rebounds, and two assists without stepping off the court during the full 40 of action.

  • Next stop, a week in paradise. The Delta Devils will appear in Honolulu on Wednesday at 11 p.m. central time for the annual Rainbow Classic where they will open the tournament opposite the host Rainbow Warriors of Hawaii.
