Diamond Devils' Top Performers:

  • The fourth inning was where nearly all of the offensive action took place for the Diamond Devils with all of their runs, and four of the five hits came from:
    • Eric Williams knotted the score via a solo shot for the Green and White's first long ball of 2026 and his first as a collegiate athlete.
    • Jaxon Haynes then doubled into the left-centerfield gap.
    • Jace Jones would then replace him at second base with a two-bagger of his own down the left field line.
    • Finally, Noah Bufford uncorked a two-run bomb over the 370' sign in the power alley and into the tree line for his sixth career jack.

  • The only other knock would take place in the seventh as Stephen Landaz smashed a pinch-hit double before being left stranded.

  • On the mound, Ethan Fuller (1.1 IP) and Clint Lafferty (1.0 IP) each struck out one Gamecock without a baserunner scoring while Kobe Ladd pitched 1.2 innings, giving up an unearned run plus a punchout as well.

  • Williams added to his hot start in 2026 with a pair of bases on balls to go along with his round-tripper whereas Kendall Brookins walked twice and Johnny Escobalez Jr. coaxed ball four once.
