THE DELTA | Mississippi Valley State football officially opens the 2026 season tonight as the Delta Devils travel to face Nicholls State. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Manning Field at John L. Guidry Stadium, with the game streaming live on ESPN+.

Under the leadership of second-year head coach Terrell Buckley, the Delta Devils enter the new campaign prepared to "Bring The Heat" and establish their identity from the opening kickoff.

Tonight's matchup provides MVSU with an early road test against a competitive Nicholls State program. The Delta Devils will look to play disciplined football, create opportunities on both sides of the ball and carry the energy built throughout the offseason into their season opener.

Mississippi Valley State begins the year with three consecutive games away from Rice-Totten Stadium. Following tonight's contest, the Delta Devils will travel to Sacramento State on Saturday, Sept. 5, before facing Lincoln University (Pa.) in the Chicago Football Classic at Soldier Field on Saturday, Sept. 12.

MVSU will make its home debut on Saturday, Sept. 19, when the Delta Devils host Delta State in the Delta Classic at Rice-Totten Stadium.
