Devilettes fall 64-57 at Kansas State

Box Score MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Mississippi Valley State's second half surge at Kansas State on Friday night wasn't enough to come back home with a victory.

The Devilettes fell 64-57 to the undefeated Wildcats at Bramlage Coliseum as MVSU dropped to 1-5 on the season. Kansas State improved to 5-0.

Despite going into the half down 43-21, MVSU fought back and cut the lead to as little as four points, 53-49, with 6 minutes left. But Kansas State went on a 10-0 run and distanced themselves from the Devilettes.

Derita Silas, a freshman from Jim High School, had a career night to lead Valley with 16 points off the bench. She hit 4-of-5 three-pointers and made 6-of-9 shots from the field. Joncyee Sanders added 13 points and six assists while Alia Frank chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds.

MVSU will be back in action Saturday, Dec. 8, when they return home to host Talladega College at 3 p.m. at the Harrison HPER Complex. Admission is free.
