Box Score PULLMAN, Wash. -- Mississippi Valley State played its final road non-conference game of the season Saturday following a 85-48 loss at Washington State.Â
MVSU will close out its non-conference slate Tuesday, Dec. 31, when they host Selma University at 2 p.m. at The Pinnacle on the campus of Coahoma Community College.Â
On Saturday, the Cougars (7-5) shot 82.6 percent in the second half and outscored the Delta Devils 53-26 in the final 20 minutes. Thee of WSU's starters scored in double figures, led by Que Johnson's 19 points.Â
Despite being down 21-3 in the first half, MVSU fought its way back and went into the half down 32-22.Â
Jeffrey Simmons led Valley with nine points while James Currington chipped in eight points, seven rebounds and five steals. Thaddeus Fauntleroy's seven points was a career high.Â
MVSU shot 27.4 percent and made 5 of 19 three-pointers.Â
