Box Score STARKVILLE, Miss. -- The Mississippi Valley State women's basketball team closed out its non-conference part of its schedule Monday with a 98-58 loss at Mississippi State.
MVSU (1-10) was right on the Bulldogs' heels in the first half, going into intermission down 40-34. But MSU tightened up its defensive efforts in the second half and road away with the victory, outscoring the Devilettes 58-24 in the second half.
Valley's Joncyee Sanders scored a season-high 18 points and seven assists. Olivia Kennedy chipped in 12 points on four 3's. Danielle Clark had a career-high eight points while Jasmyne Sanders also added eight points.
The Devilettes will now start preparation for UAPB. That game tips off at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Leflore County Civic Center.
