Devilettes defeat Alcorn, win third straight

Box Score GREENVILLE, Miss. -- The Mississippi Valley State women's basketball team won its third straight game Saturday with a 59-56 victory over Alcorn State at the Washington County Convention Center.

Ashley Beals and A'Shanti Weathers paced MVSU (8-15, 7-5 SWAC) with 15 points apiece. ?

Valley led 30-23 and withstood a late-game push by the Lady Braves and 24 points by Alcorn's Tierro Frost.

MVSU will be at Southern on Monday at 5:30 p.m. in Baton Rouge, La.
