ITTA BENA, Miss. - It is always an honor and privilege to recognize the hard work of our Trailblazers. Quick6 Productions, LLC, has taken on the task of being the title sponsor for the Mississippi Valley State University Football Top 100 Greatest Players of All-Time. A panel was selected from former head coaches, sports information directors, players, the working media and MVSU archivists in order to vet every player to ensure accuracy. During the player recognition process individuals were historically evaluated in two phases utilizing a Player Impact Estimate (PIE) algorithm (see algorithm) to give players points for their contribution to MVSU's great football legacy. For example: All PRO, Player of the Year All-American, Academic All-American and All Conference etc.

During the initial phase 250 individuals were selected as members of the All Decade Teams that span from 1953 – 2009. Selection to an All Decade Team is the highest honor bestowed upon an individual from the Department of Athletics at Mississippi Valley State University. The six All Decade Teams
(1953 – 2009) were honored 10/3/16 – 10/7/16. In the final phase of player recognition the Top 100 list was structured like a modern day college football roster with the top players taken from the Top 250 Players to narrow the list down to the 100 players with highest points by positions: (6) quarterbacks, (12) running backs, (16) offensive lineman, (16) receivers, (3) returners (2) place kickers (4) punters, (1) all-purpose, (12) defensive backs, (12) linebackers and (16) defensive lineman.

Fifty players will be announced two weeks before homecoming and the final fifty announced the week of homecoming. Ten players will be announced each day starting October 10, 2016 and concluding October 21, 2016 and on homecoming day October 22, 2016 we will reveal the following teams: Dream Team (1953 – 2016), All-Time Greatest Two-Way Team (1953 – 2016), All-Time Greatest Freshmen Team (1953 – 2016), Silver Team – 25th Anniversary (1953 – 1978), Golden Team – (1953 – 2003), All-American Scholars (1953 – 2016), All-American Players (1953 – 2016) and players in the NFL covering the entire history of the Delta Devil football program. We hope to see you at homecoming; there is something for every faithful fan as we welcome our football legends back to the beautiful campus at Mississippi Valley State University.
