ITTA BENA – Delta Devil Football wide receiver Quinn McElfresh has accepted an invitation to compete in the 2019 SPIRAL Tropical Bowl, announced this week.
The Tropical Bowl gives scouts from both the NFL and CFL a chance to see some of the best players from FBS schools throughout the country.
McElfresh is one of 137 players to accept an invitation, including five players from Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) teams.
The Brainerd, Minnesota, native finished his senior season with 31 receptions for 246 yards and two touchdowns – bringing his MVSU career total to 88 receptions, 1,135 total yards, and seven touchdowns. As a junior in 2017, McElfresh led MVSU in receptions and receiving yards with 57 catches for 889 yards; his five touchdown catches that year also led Valley.
This year, McElfresh had a season-best six catches at Jackson State (9/8), recorded 49 receiving yards against Hampton (11/10) and scored touchdowns against both Alcorn State (9/22) and Bethune-Cookman (10/6).
McElfresh and the rest of the SPIRAL Tropical Bowl invitees will compete on Jan. 13, 2019 in Daytona Beach, Florida. For more information, visit
