Mississippi Valley State senior Tracy Thompkins has been named SWAC Football Co-Defensive Player of the Week on November 4, 2019.

For the fifth time this season, Thompkins recorded double-digit tackles with 11 against Alabama State on Saturday. He had seven solo stops, a season-high 3.5 tackles for a loss and a forced fumble.

The Miami, Fla. native ranks sixth in the nation and second in the SWAC in solo tackles (56) and is 16th in the FCS and tied for second in the conference in total tackles (88). He is fourth in tackles per game (9.8), fifth in both assisted tackles (32) and tackles for a loss (10.5) amongst the conference leaders. 

The Delta Devils are off this upcoming weekend and will return to the field for their final home game on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 1 p.m. against Grambling State.
