Valley Football continues partnership with Nike/BSN

Team unveils new uniforms for the 2019 season

ITTA BENA, Miss. – In continuation with Mississippi Valley State's partnership with Nike/BSN Sports, the Delta Devil football team unveiled new uniforms for the 2019 season.

"When you secure an apparel and footwear partnership with an organization like Nike, you immediately gain leverage because of Nike's brand in this global market." MVSU Director of Athletics Dianthia Ford-Kee said. "Our athletics program is the benefactor of this partnership.  We are excited to be a part of the Nike family."

The partnership began last October, with Valley committing to a five year deal with both organizations. Included in the team's new uniforms set are multiple combinations for home, away and alternates.

"We are excited about the upcoming year and the opportunity to display our new relationship with Nike and our new uniforms as well." Head football coach Vincent Dancy said. "I think with the four different combinations that we have, it will give us a chance to CHECK off our goals one at a time."

Players Tracy Thompkins (Miami, Fla.), Jerry Garner (Chunchula, Ala.), Ray Taylor (Memphis, Tenn.) and Verandre White (Detroit, Mich.) showed off the new uniforms before leaving for the summer.

"I feel like the jerseys are a good asset to the team." Thompkins said. "They feel good, look good, and we'll play good. Everything goes hand-in-hand. Nice fit, stretchable and fits to the body. We are grateful for this, so we'll take it to next season and go play hard."

"I'm grateful for these uniforms." White said. "Nike's the brand I wear. The team's going to look good and we'll be ready for this year!"

Football's 2019 campaign begins with a trip to Nashville for the John Merritt Classic against Tennessee State in August. The first home game will be September 21st against Bethune-Cookman.
