CONWAY, Ark. – Stanley Rop (Eldoret, Kenya) and Derica Pitters (Bronx, N.Y.) led the way for Valley as the team competed in the Central Arkansas XC Challenge. The Delta Devils took eighth at the meet while the Devilettes finished 10th. 

The men's side averaged a 23:42 running of the 5K and the women averaged 19:22 in the 4K. 

Rop placed 33rd individually with a time of 21:04.4. He was followed by Samuel Gardner (Immokalee, Fla.), who finished in 22:58.2 to finish 62nd. 

Pitters ran the 4K in 17:39.2, earning 46th place. Mya Dumpson (Fort Washington, N.Y.) was second for Valley, with a 18:36.2 time and 59th place finish. 

Mississippi Valley will travel to Ruston, La. for the Louisiana Tech Mook 4 next Saturday (Sept. 14).
