CLINTON, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State University cross country program had two runners on the men's side come out of the starting gates on fire to get 2025 off and running, whereas the women came ahead of a pair of squads as a whole (Grambling State and MUW).

Delta Devils' Top Performers:
	- Duncan Koima was better than all but one on Friday night, crossing the finish line in 15:29.5, a mark topped only by Jackson State's Godfrey Kimutai (15:28.2).
 
	- Timothy Rotich ran the 5K at an elite pace as well, earning tenth at a speed of 15:51.2.
 
Devilettes' Top Performers:
	- Nyla Snead and Aliyah Ward crossed the white line nearly simultaneously as Snead tallied a 31:12.4 and Ward slotted in two spots behind with 31:38.1.

	- The Green and Red trailblazers have nearly an entire month of practice and preparation for the next meet on October 4 at Belhaven.
