Itta Bena, MS. - Tryouts have officially opened to join the 2020-21 Mississippi Valley State Cheer Team. Below will be the information needed for each applicant to complete, along with an application that will have to be filled out and submitted via email to the address below.

Tryout Application

General Requirements
Admission Letter of Acceptance (Incoming Students)
2.5 GPA or higher (Returning Students)
$25.00 Application Fee in form of a money order mailed to (MVSU, Attention Athletics Dept., 14000 Hwy 82, Itta Bena, MS 38941) by Friday, May 8, 2020.

Previous cheerleading experience (High School Level or All-star)
Must have stunting ability/skills
 
Video Tryouts (all videos are due by Friday, May 15, 2020)

Cheer Videos should include: 
Introduction
First and Last Name
High School and Hometown
Fall 2020 Class (Freshman, Sophomore, etc.)
Primary stunting position
Secondary stunting position, if applicable

1 Dance (at least an 8-counts)
Jumps (Double toe touch, hurdler and pike)
Tumbling (Due to current Health Regulations, the use of a gym or matted surface may not be currently possible. If this is an issue, you may submit old video clips. If you are using old clips, please identify yourself in the video so that we can easily find you. Stunting and tumbling skills from older videos should be shown on the appropriate collegiate surfaces (non-spring). Please note that if you can't provide us with the preferred skills listed, substitute with the best skills that you can execute safely and consistently.)
 
Mascot Video should include:
