ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State University athletics program recognizes football's Fredrick McGee and women's volleyball's Mikayla Lee as the MVSU student-athletes of the week.
 
McGee, a senior defensive back from Leaksville, Mississippi, had a career night in Tallahassee, coming one tackle shy of doubling his previous personal-best (7) with a game-high 13 tackles including taking down 12 Rattlers without assistance.
 
Lee, a freshman setter from East St. Louis, Illinois, had the most well-rounded performance in Friday's match with Jackson State, contributing 11 assists plus seven digs, both team-highs.
Football returns to the Mississippi Delta to host Alcorn at 6 p.m. Saturday evening in a Green Out / Young Alumni Reunion while volleyball participates in its first of two SWAC Round-Ups beginning Sunday versus UAPB in Huntsville, Alabama.
