Ty'Jarian Williams Earns SWAC Football Weekly Honors

ITTA BENA, Miss. - The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Mississippi Valley State's Ty'Jarian Williams its SWAC Football Newcomer of the Week for his impressive performance played this past weekend.

Williams, a freshman quarterback from Aliceville, Alabama, passed for 265 yards while going 19-of-29 with three touchdowns to help Mississippi Valley State claim a 42-17 Homecoming win against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday.

About the SWAC
The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) is considered one of the premier HBCU conferences in the country and currently ranks among the elite in the nation in terms of HBCU alumni playing with professional sports teams.

Current championship competition offered by the league includes competition for men in Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Indoor Track and Field, Outdoor Track and Field, and Tennis.

Women's competition is offered in the sports of Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country, Golf, Indoor Track and Field, Outdoor Track and Field, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, and Volleyball.

The Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils will host Jackson State University Saturday October 21, 2023, at Rice-Totten Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
