ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State University athletics program recognizes football's DePhabian Fant and Anthony Blakely as the MVSU student-athletes of the week.
 
Each week, MVSU Office of Athletic Communications recognizes two student-athletes. This award recognizes student-athletes who have excelled in competition, in the classroom, and in the community over the past week, exemplifying the Championship Culture of MVSU.
 
DePhabian Fant, a junior wide receiver from Greenwood, Mississippi, collected 4 rushes for 99 yards in competition over the weekend, and continues to be a key player on offense and special teams.
 
Anthony Blakely, a senior defensive back from McClain, Mississippi, tallied seven tackles, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery over the weekend. Blakely is a reinforcer on the defensive side of the ball.
