ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State University athletics program recognizes volleyball's Torre Giron and football's Omar Emmons as the MVSU student-athletes of the week.
 
Each week, MVSU Office of Athletic Communications recognizes two student-athletes. This award recognizes student-athletes who have excelled in competition, in the classroom, and in the community over the past week, exemplifying the Championship Culture of MVSU.

Torre Giron, a sophomore outside hitter from Channelview, Texas collected 15 kills and 18 digs in competition over the past week and continues to be a leader on the floor.
 
Omar Emmons, a redshirt-sophomore, from Greenwood, Mississippi tallied 9 tackles and one tackle for loss in competition over the past week. Emmons is a defender on the field, but he's always defended his hometown.

Football:
The Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils host Alabama State University for Senior Day Saturday November 11, 2023. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
