ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State University athletics program recognizes women's basketball Sh'Diamond McKnight and Men's Basketball Rayquan Brown as the MVSU student-athletes of the week.
 
Each week, MVSU Office of Athletic Communications recognizes two student-athletes. This award recognizes student-athletes who have excelled in competition, in the classroom, and in the community over the past week, exemplifying the Championship Culture of MVSU.

Sh'Diamond McKnight, scored 16 points against Ole Miss, and 16 points, five rebounds, and four steals in competition against Texas A&M over the past week and continues to be a rising leader on the floor. McKnight has scored in double digits in 8/11 games this season and averages 14.5 points per game.
 
Rayquan Brown, a senior, from Atlanta, Georgia scored 19 points and nine rebounds against Gonzaga this past week in competition. Brown is quickly becoming the offensive force for MVSU. Brown has scored in double digits in 7/9 games this season and averages 15.7 points per game.

Men's Basketball:
The Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils will travel to Waco, Texas to take on Baylor University on Friday, December 22, 2023. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM.

Women's Basketball: 
The Mississippi Valley State Devilettes will travel to Starkville, Mississippi to play Mississippi State University on Friday, December 29, 2023. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
