ITTA BENA, Miss. - Mississippi Valley State Athletics has selected men's basketball senior guard Terry Collins as its Athlete of the Week for his recent conference play performances.
Collins was tabbed as this week's SWAC Men's Basketball Impact Player of the Week for his key contributions to the Delta Devils' victory over Jackson State Tigers on Saturday evening, February 4.
The Delta Devils managed to pull away from the Tigers in a second-half comeback victory, 82-78, collecting its second conference win of the 2023 season. Collins was the leading scorer against JSU with 21 points. He also registered six rebounds, five steals, and four assists.
In a loss to Alcorn State, 81-70, Collins recorded a game-high 25 points. In addition, he recorded seven rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
Collins is currently ranked second in the SWAC in points, with 364 points total. He scores 14.6 points per outing. In addition, he is ranked sixth in steals in the conference, with 38 total. He collects 1.52 steals per game.
