RUSTON, La. – The Mississippi Valley State women's track and field set new personal records at the Jim Mize Invitational, hosted by Louisiana Tech at the Jim Mize Track and Field Complex. 

The Devilettes' freshmen Kaylan Clayton (25.91), Zariyah Moss (26.76), Sky'Kerria Curtis (26.98), and senior Kimeisha Star (27.09) each set a new PR in the 200m. 

Senior Tremaija Neal set a new PR in Hammer Throw with a toss of 33.39m. In addition, she created a new PR in Javelin Throw with a distance of 27.35m, as she placed 9th. 

Women's Field Events

Senior Destini Banks placed 4th in High Jump with a jump of 1.45m. 

Senior Michaela Brown placed 4th in the Shot Put with a toss of 12.71m, and freshman Aaliyah Whyte placed 5th with a toss of 12.68m. 

Brown finished 8th in Javelin Throw with a throw of 28.04m, and Neal placed 9th with a distance of 27.35m. 

Freshman Aniyah Thomas landed in 9th in Discus Throw, with a toss of 33.47m. In addition, Thomas placed 10th in Hammer Throw with a distance of 33.76m. 

Women's Running Events

Freshman Kaylan Clayton finished 3rd in the 100m, with a time of 12.31. Senior Myah Sherman trailed and finished 7th, with a time of 12.57. 

Senior Chanelle Houston finished 4th in the 400m Hurdles, with a time of 1:08.32. 

Myah Sherman finished 9th in the 200m, with a time of 25.87. 

Sophomore Terreka Gibson finished 10th in the 400m, with a time of 1:03.84. 

The 4x400 Relay team (Moss, Houston, Sherman, and Gibson) placed 4th, clocking 4:13.35. 

Up Next: 

The Devilettes Outdoor Track & Field will travel to Oxford, Miss. to compete in the Ole Miss Classic. The Ole Miss Classic will begin on Friday, March 26, and conclude on Saturday, March 25.
