2025-26 WBB Schedule

Women's Basketball | 10/1/2025 2:03:00 PM

ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State University women's basketball program made significant strides following then interim Head Coach Jason James' promotion last season and are eyeing a major leap up the standings as they prepare for his first full year with the veteran tactician on the bench.

The Devilettes will provide a sneak peek into what the squad features on November 1 when they host local NAIA HBCU Rust College in a 4 p.m. home exhibition.

The ladies from Itta Bena officially kick things off with a three-game road trip through the Heart of Dixie, making stops at Troy (November 6), Mississippi State (November 9) and Auburn (November 13).

One of the team's two non-conference home games is next on the docket as Coach James' crew hosts Lipscomb on November 16 at 4 p.m. when the Bisons make the trek from Nashville.

Three days following the home opener, MVSU will head down to the bayou and Nicholls State University for a battle with the Colonels on November 19 in Thibodaux.

A nearly two-week break will hopefully see the women refreshed ahead of their next clash with the Tarleton Texans inside the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex at 7 p.m. on December 2.

On the road again goes the Green and White as the ladies spend an extended weekend in the Sooner State opposite Tulsa (December 4) and Oklahoma State (December 6) before returning to more familiar territory with excursions to Mercer in Macon, Georgia (December 14), Ole Miss in Oxford (December 17), and UAB in Birmingham, Alabama (December 20).

New Year and a new chance at life is on task to ring in 2026 against the Alabama schools from AAMU (January 1) and ASU (January 3).

The Texas Two-Step is the road opening weekend in the SWAC for Mississippi Valley, traveling to east Texas to face Texas Southern (January 8) as well as Prairie View (January 10).

The 2025-26 version of the schedule pits Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman for just one pair of battles against the Sunshine Staters as MVSU hosts them on January 15 and January 17, respectively.

Immediately after that, the Delta Devils will see Southern (January 24) and Grambling State (January 26) for the one time in 2025-26, both being in The Boot.

A season-long homestand awaits after that as the Green and White host a trio of local rivals on campus including UAPB (January 31), Alcorn (February 5) and Jackson State (February 7).

Eastward bound goes Valley for the double date opposite the AAMU Bulldogs and ASU Hornets on February 12 and February 14.

The Seniors will play the Prairie View Panthers (February 19) and Texas Southern (February 21) in the final weekend of basketball for selected players, who will be recognized prior to the TSU contest.

A perfect way to end the campaign begins during the February finale opposite Arkansas-Pine Bluff on the 28th whereas the unofficial crown for best basketball program in the Magnolia State puts a bow on the regular season at Alcorn (March 3) and the last game of the year will be against the school from the state capital, Jackson State, two days later.

A chance to build upon Valley's first SWAC Tournament victory since 2012-13 will present itself once again in the "Big A" from March 9-14 inside the Gateway Center Arena, home of the WNBA Atlanta Dream.
