Delta Devils end Alabama trip with loss to Bulldogs

Box Score NORMAL, Ala. -- The Mississippi Valley State men's basketball team ended its Alabama road trip Monday night with a 68-59 loss at Alabama A&M. 

Anthony McDonald scored in double-figures for the first time this season against a SWAC opponent, but it wasn't enough to fuel the Delta Devils dropped their straight game.

The Aberdeen native had a team-high 14 points using four 3's and James Currington added 13 points and a team-high seven rebounds. DeAngelo Priar chipped in 12 points and a career-high five steals. 

A&M took the lead for good with 7:32 left in the second half and kept Valley at bay late in the game by knocking down their free throws. 

All 10 A&M players that saw action got on the scoreboard, led by Green Hill with 13 points. 

The Delta Devils shot 36.8 percent. 

MVSU will host Alcorn State on Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Leflore County Civic Center. Fans are asked to arrive early to due to the smaller seating capacity of 1,825.
