Box Score HOUSTON, Texas -- It was a tough outing for the Mississippi Valley State men's basketball team on Saturday night. 

In its first game after defeating previously undefeated Southern University, the Delta Devils dropped a 94-56 decision at Texas Southern. 

TSU (8-10, 4-2 SWAC) held the lead for the entire game and held a 51-25 halftime advantage. 

James Currington led Valley (5-14, 1-5 SWAC) with a career-high 19 points and seven rebounds while DeAngelo Priar added 10 points. Jordan Washington had eight points off the bench. 

Aaric Murray (26 points, 19 rebounds, 6 blocks) and D'Aris Scarver (22 points) combine to score 48 points for the Tigers, who won their fourth SWAC game of the season. 

MVSU will be back in action Monday at Prairie View for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
