Box Score CLARKSDALE, Miss. -- Mississippi Valley State's Jordan Washington had 15 points and Vacha Vaughn nearly had a double-double with a career-high 11 points and nine rebounds, but it wasn't enough to defeat Texas Southern on Saturday.Â
The Delta Devils fell to Texas Southern 73-65 at The Pinnacle on the campus of Coahoma Community College.Â
Jose Rodriguez paced the Tigers with a game-high 19 points.Â
The Delta Devils made a run at the Tigers in the second half by cutting a 18-point deficit to just two with under five minutes left.Â
Afterwards, both teams went on a three-minute drought which was broken by a Rodriguez jumper at the 1:35 mark to give the Tigers a 68-64 lead. Rodriguez and Law Johnson-Danner made five free throws down the stretch to seal the win for TSU.Â
Ralling added 10 points for the Delta Devils, which shot 41.4 percent from the field and made 10-of-13 free throws.Â
MVSU will play its final home game of the season Monday against Prairie View A&M at 7:30 p.m. at the Leflore County Civic Center in Greenwood.Â
