Box Score PINE BLUFF, Ark. -- The regular season came to a close Saturday for Mississippi Valley State as the Delta Devils dropped a 83-68 decision at Arkansas-Pine Bluff. 

Three MVSU starters scored in double-figures but the Delta Devils shot just 36 percent and made 9-of-27 three pointers. 

With the loss, Valley (9-22, 5-13 SWAC) will be the No. 9 seed in next week's SWAC Tournament, set for March 11-15 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The Delta Devils will face Prairie View A&M at 8 p.m. Tuesday. 

Anthony McDonald and Jeffrey Simmons led Valley with 14 points apiece, but the Delta Devils were unable to withstand a hot Golden Lion team. Davon Haynes had 22 points for UAPB and Tevin Hammond chipped in 20 points and eight assists as the Golden Lions beat MVSU for the second time this season. 

UAPB led 42-33 at halftime and outscored the Delta Devils 41-35 in the second half. 

MVSU's Darryl Marshall nearly tied a season-high with 11 points while Daniel Hurtt had 10 points in his second straight start.
