BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Next on this year's countdown of Mississippi Valley State's 15 most memorable individual moments of the 2021-22 athletic calendar is moment number 13 as junior guard Mikayla Etienne nabbed the Devilettes' lone SWAC Player of the Week award in 2021-22 with an impressive three-game stretch during Thanksgiving week.
 
Etienne had a game-high 18 points against the host Lady Eagles in the Southern Miss Thanksgiving Classic while averaging 16 points, six field goals, four rebounds, two three-pointers, 1.7 steals, and 1.3 assists during a trio of contests.
 
The SWAC's leader in attempts from distance (173) topped MVSU in games played (25), field goals made (111) and triples made (43), on top of slotting second on the squad regarding minutes per game (28.6), points scored (295), scoring average (11.8), assists (54), and steals (43).
