ITTA BENA, Miss. - Mississippi Valley State Athletics has selected women's indoor track and field sophomore Darrione Joseph as its Athlete of the Week for her season opening performances.

MVSU indoor track and field season began with an impressive start on January 13th at LSU's Purple Tiger Invite, where Joseph outstretched Louisiana-Monroe's Savanna Lawson (9.09) to place fifth in the 60-meter hurdles with an official time of 9.07. 

At the KMS Invitational on January 22nd, Joseph won the 60m hurdles, clocking a time of 8.94. In addition, she's part of the 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams. The 4x200 relay team won with a time of 1:48.10, while the 4x400 relay team placed third with a time of 4:08.88.
