HAMMOND, La. – The Mississippi Valley State University track & field program scored 38 points apiece for both the men's and women's teams as they each put together solid showings during their first scored events of the outdoor campaign.

Men's Top Performers:
- Bernardo McGraw became the first Delta Devil to win an event in 2026, taking home the top spot in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 12:56.22.
- Timothy Rotich nearly joined McGraw on the top step of the podium, earning runner-up status during the 1500m (4:09.08).
- John Eubanks gave the guys one person to receive each medal as he grabbed the bronze at the 200m dash (22.58).
- Two of the male jumpers were point scorers with Allen Jenkins logging two for his 6.78m long jump and Jusden Culpepper tacking on five thanks to a 13.57m triple jump.
- The 4x100m quartet made an impression, slotting in at fourth for its time of 43.55 seconds.
Women's Top Performers:
- Jamison Ware came close to giving Valley a sweep of the 3000m steeplechase, instead settling for second place via a 14:35.92 time.
- Nyla Snead kept the good runs rolling as she blazed the 100m hurdles in 15.29 seconds to finish third.
- Rounding out the podium spots was Poetrie Dace as she was the lone field athlete among the top-three for the Devils, sliding in at number three regarding the high jump (1.55m).
- Aniyah Thomas scored in three different events; hammer throw (6th - 33.82m), shot put (8th - 10.83m), and discus (8th - 32.86m).
- Other ladies who added to the overall point tally included the 4x100m relay team (4th - 49.21), Janet Cheboi's 1500m (8th - 5:30.82), and Senyce Rene's 100m (8th - 12.79).
