BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Mississippi Valley State Devilettes finished in 12th place as a team on the final day of the 2023 Southwestern Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship on Friday afternoon. 

Women's Field Events

Senior Michaela Brown placed 3rd in the shot put with a throw of 13.02m. 

Freshman Aaliyah Whyte placed 7th in the shot put with a throw of 12.33m. Whyte also placed in the weight throw. She placed 11th with a throw of 13.94m. 

Women's Running Events

Sophomore Darrione Joseph placed 6th in the 60m hurdles, crossing the finish line at 8.85. 

Freshman Taliya Spurlock placed 13th in the 60m dash, crossing the finish line at 7.79. 

4x400 Relay team finished in 12th place with a time of 4:09.11.

The Devilettes prepare for the outdoor season's first meet on March 17 through March 18 at LA Tech's Jim Mize Invitational in Ruston, La.
